wrong answer
to get x^2 there must be 2 x's in the answer
(x+5)(x+1)
so x=-5 or -1

If you have a good teacher and take good notes it won't be to hard... make sure your calc. is correct though...

Think of it as a reverse FOIL.

x^2+6x+5
(x+?)(x+?) What are the factors of the constant? 5 is the constant. The factors are 1,5.
Do any of the factors sums equal the coefficient of the x(6)? 1+5=6 / Yes
(x+5)(x+1)
